Dance Policies and Procedures • Registration is first come, first served. There is an annual, one-time registration fee of $25.00 per student. First month’s tuition and registration fee is due upon registration. • Tuition is based on a calculated average for the entire regular season. The total number of classes per year is added and then divided by the typical number of weeks per month. Most months have four weeks, thus four lessons per month. However, some months have five weeks (i.e. October, April, May) and other months have three weeks. The ADC charges the SAME amount of tuition per month because it is based on an average. The regular season runs September – June (10 months total). • ADC accepts tuition payment by ACH (checking or savings account) or by credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Tuition is processed on the first of every month from October – June. • Should you wish to change your dancer’s schedule (add, drop or change a class), a 2-part NCR CHANGE FORM must be filled out no later than the 15th of the month or the student will incur charges for the next months’ tuition. CHANGE FORMS are available at all locations or may be mailed directly to you by calling the main office at (512) 795-1962. • The school is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. No dancers may be left unattended after class has concluded. Young children must be escorted to and from dance class. • For the dancer’s safety, gum and/or jewelry are not permitted in class. • Dancers must dress out in the appropriate dancewear (including appropriate shoes & hair pulled away from face) for class. Teachers may ask a student to sit out if a dancer chooses to not follow the dress code. • Late arrival to class is discouraged. It is disruptive to the class and harmful to students. Students arriving in excess of 15 minutes after the class’ start time will be asked to watch class rather than participate. • Teachers and schedules are subject to change at any time. All classes need a minimum of 3 students enrolled. • Parents and adult students are to be aware that the school promotes healthy body image among the students. As such we approve if our teachers snack during the course of the teaching day. Parents are to be aware that dancing as a profession is physically demanding and proper body care is essential. • Please call the office if your dancer will not be in class for any reason. Makeup classes are available and encouraged. Call the office to set up your makeup class. Makeup classes must be attended within one month from the student’s date of absence. • It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all school activities, such as viewing days, recitals, class requirements, and dates the school is open or closed. Families must check the bulletin board and message board in the main lobby for current events and updates on a weekly basis. In addition, the ADC frequently sends reminder notes home after class. Please check with you child and in their dance bag for notes from class. • General rude or nasty behavior and/or comments will not be tolerated. Please regard all ADC faculty and staff with respect. The ADC reserves the right to ask any student to leave at any time for any reason. • Should you wish to discuss any topic with an ADC staff, please contact the office and arrange an appointment. Teachers are not available before, after or in between classes to discuss any issues, questions or concerns. • The school is hereby granted permission to take photographs of the students to use in brochures, web sites, posters, advertisements and other promotional materials the school creates. Permission is also hereby granted for the school to copyright such photographs in its name. • Only ADC faculty and staff are permitted to open the door to the studio at the beginning, the end or during class. Students must be prepared for class and waiting outside the door until the instructor invites the students into class. Opening the door or interrupting the class in any way to talk with the teacher or your child or any other student(s) is unacceptable. It is in the best interest of all students to minimize classroom distractions. If you have an emergency, the ADC office manager will be happy to assist you. |
